Apply for support
apply for support from Velferdstinget
This is Frivillighetens Økonomiske Komité
Each semester, the Student Welfare Council (Velferdstinget) appoints four students to serve on the Volunteer Organisations Economic Committee (Frivillighetens Økonomiske Komité) for a one-year term.
We are responsible for distributing the funds allocated by the Student Welfare Council from the semester fee, as well as the financial support provided by Sit.
We usually meet once a month to discuss which applications will contribute most effectively to student welfare and benefit our fellow students.
The Student Welfare Council has decided that the funding we distribute should prioritise initiatives that promote student welfare, amongst them:
- cultural initiatives, events, concerts and debates
- sports and recreational activities
- student democratic initiatives, including independent student media
- inclusive initiatives that reach a broad range of students
- initiatives that promote mental wellbeing, inclusion and the prevention of loneliness
We do not provide funding for applications relating to:
- salaries and fees
- items intended for personal ownership
- academically focused events or activities
- initiatives primarily intended to build up organisational reserves or capital
- activities that, without reasonable justification, exclude or discriminate against individuals or groups
- alcohol
We have a number of requirements regarding the content of funding applications, which you can read more about in our guidelines ➔
If you have any questions regarding long-term funding agreements, please contact us at hei@velferdstinget.no.

We've Moved Our Funding Application Portal!
Our funding application portal has now been integrated into Sit's association pages.
The new platform is designed to make it easier for you to apply for funding, track the status of your applications, and access tools that can help you manage and run your student society more effectively.
What Does This Mean for Applicants?
- You will need to register your association the first time you wish to apply for funding.
- It will be easier to track the status of your application throughout the review process.
Funding applications will continue to be reviewed and processed by the Volunteer Economic Committee (Frivillighetens Økonomiske Komité).
