The tuition fee

Hva er semesteravgiften?

All students at educational institutions affiliated with Sit pay a semester fee. The Welfare Council (Velferdstinget) decides how high the fee should be and how the money is used.

The semester fee funds various welfare services for students in Gjøvik, Ålesund, and Trondheim – all aimed at improving everyday student life.

The last time the fee was increased was in 2024, when it went from NOK 600 to NOK 700. With around 45,000 students, this currently amounts to approximately NOK 61 million per year.

Hvorfor økte man semesteravgiften sist?

  • More focus on preventive measures for student health, such as Sit Council and Sit Psychosocial.

  • Financial agreement for new construction at Samfundet.
